Chunk Honey - 16 oz

$22.00

Chunk honey is honey harvested with an intact piece of honeycomb embedded in the jar. Instead of filtering out the wax and comb, we scoop a chunk—usually a hexagonal section of capped comb—into pure, raw honey. The result is a jar containing both liquid honey and chewable comb you can slice, spread, or eat whole.

What you get:

  • Texture contrast: silky liquid honey plus the pleasantly chewy, waxy comb.

  • Full-spectrum flavor: comb holds concentrated nectar and subtle variations in taste that reflect the hive’s local forage—blossoms from our Ohio fields and neighborhood trees.

  • Natural goodness: comb contains beeswax, tiny pollen granules, and trace enzymes and propolis that don’t survive heavy processing.

  • Versatility: spread on toast, pair with cheese, top yogurt, stir into tea (chew the comb or remove it), or simply nibble straight from the jar.

How to enjoy:

  • Slice a thin piece of comb and lay it on warm toast— honey melts while the comb keeps a lovely bite.

  • Cut a chunk to serve with aged cheeses: the wax gives a little textural counterpoint to creamy or crumbly cheeses.

  • Stir a small piece into hot tea; the honey dissolves and the comb can be chewed or removed.

  • Eat it as a quick, natural energy bite—everything in the jar is edible.

Shelf life and storage:

  • Chunk honey doesn’t spoil. Store at room temperature away from direct sun. If the liquid honey crystallizes (it may, because raw local honey does), briefly warm the jar in a bowl of warm water—don’t microwave—until the honey loosens.

Notes about the comb:

  • Beeswax comb is edible but not fully digestible; most people chew it for flavor and texture and either swallow small amounts or discard the spent wax.

  • Because chunk honey is minimally processed and raw, it may contain tiny bits of pollen and propolis—great for many people’s tastes and health preferences, but not recommended for those with specific pollen/beeswax allergies.

Why choose chunk honey:

  • It’s the most “whole hive” way to enjoy honey—simple, whimsical, and beautifully honest. For those who love natural textures and pure flavors straight from local hives, chunk honey is a delightful treat.
